52 Week Growing Calendar / Planner
There are 52 weeks to dream and scheme about all the things you could grow for beauty and nourishment… Here’s a little gift to get you growing! This year I taped my master crop list to the wall in the laundry room. I have a place for my highlighters and a little stool to stand on to reach the high places. You can scope my set up out on my social media. Feel free to print your own 52 week calendar from these graphics.
I highlighted the top row to correlate with the changing of months, and I left some space between pages to fold and tape the pages together if you like (in this picture I have taped them together under the light of the Christmas tree; winter is a great time to plan).
I use an S with a circle for “start” then I highlight it with blue when it’s completed. I write an H for “hardening off” and T/P for t
“transplant.” Everything is in pencil, so it’s changeable and takes the pressure off. An added bonus of using weeks verses specific dates is this: if this plan worked good for you, it can be reused the next year. Happy growing!
12 Month Planting Calendar / Planner
A more brief planning calendar with one grid per month. There is also an example calendar included. This is a great tool to work backwards from. Start with when you want your plants to bloom / be ready to harvest, then count back the days to maturity to find out when you need to start the plant keeping in mind each month has an average of 30 days. Other tips… give your self extra time if you start indoors first. Be mindful some plants need certain amounts of daylight. For example, asters needed long days, so even though I started them super early last year, it was a lesson learned that they do not bloom until conditions needed to do so occur in nature.
Crop Organization Printables
Crop Organization Charts by season and method planted. Great for those who want to track more data in one chart. Each chart is labeled for season (overwintered, early spring, and summer/ fall) and method (startlings from trays or direct sown). Each chart includes a column for sow / start date, plant name, color / variety, number of seeds, location for planting, and ID number (if you want to number your trays for organization), and and option for how indoor trays are started or potted up to bigger cells, as well as a transplant date.
Weekly Farm Task Organizer
Plan your week by tasks on the farm: start, sow, transplant, water, fertilize, weed, communicate, market, buy/supplies. At the top of each page there is a blank to number the week; this makes a great tool to correlate with the 52 week calendar so you never miss a seed starting task on your crop plan. We have added two formats to choose from.
